Animal Hospital, Kota India

I had a two night stop over in a small Indian village named Kota. The morning after a long sleep, I ventured out into the town and stopped by the local veterinary hospital. For the first time, I witnessed a cow become artificially inseminated. The vets in training made room for me to snap a photo. Goats, horses and dogs roamed the hospital with their owners. A goat was screaming while receiving vaccines. My friend and I were given a tour of the facilities and the hospital desperately needed upgrading. I was told by a worker that the hospital doesn’t have electricity sometimes during operations. When the sun sets, cell phone light is used to finish up a surgery. It was an eye opening experience.
