Agra, India

Today was my first official day in India. After a very long commute, I finally arrived in one piece. My friend and I checked into our hotel in Delhi and we arranged with our driver to take us to Agra for the day. It took a few hours by car to reach Agra. The drive to Agra was quite an adventure. Anyone who’s experienced driving in India, knows what I mean! haha

Our first stop was at the Mother Theresa Orphanage. We met with a nun and she gave us a tour around the facility. She explained to us that most children were abandoned by their parents who couldn’t raise them.  We met a few children and I held two babies. It was a touching experience to meet these innocent souls. I pray they will end up in warm loving homes.

The next stop was to the magnificent Taj Mahal. When we arrived we were swarmed by people offering us their “tour guide” services. We were instructed by our driver that these people aren’t real tour guides and should not to hire their services. The Taj Mahal was grand and the  detail of the marble structure was incredible. Agra is a city that I’ll never forget!
