Local Kids Meet the Animals at SAWA

I spent some time volunteering at SAWA in Santorini and grew attached to some of the dogs who were waiting to be adopted. One in particular was Keira. She is a border collie mix that was found chained up. She was rescued by a dedicated volunteer named Renata and soon became family with the other animals at SAWA. I’ve taken her for walks to the beach a few times and spent many memorable moments with her. She is now adopted into a wonderful family in Northern Europe and will forever hold a place close to my heart. I will miss her waiting to greet me by the entrance of SAWA, but I’m happy to know that she has now found a loving family to call her own.
